Itinerary

Day 01 :
Dublin

We start our tour by taking a panoramic tour of Dublin city, taking in the highlights of what our capital city has to offer. We will then arrive at the Guiness Storehouse to savor the tastes and aromas of Irelands most iconic beer while learning how to pull the perfect pint.

We will then head down through the picturesque Wicklow Mountains towards Powerscourt House & Gardens, named the 3rd Best Garden in the world. After immersing yourself in this world class beauty we will head over to Powerscourt Waterfall, Irelands highest waterfall which cascades dramatically down 121 meters (about half the height of the Empire State Building) of rugged rock.

Day 02 :
Waterford

We will head further south today stopping in Wexford to explore the Irish National Heritage Park, where we will go on an exciting 9,000-year journey and see Irelands history brought to life. We then move on to the Kennedy Homestead to experience an interpretive exhibit which traces the story from Patrick Kennedy leaving as a famine emigrant to his great grandson returning as US President. We can also experience the unique insight into the bravery and fortitude with which the Irish people faced in the desperate times of the famine by jumping aboard the Dunbrody Famine Ship.

We will then head to Waterford, Ireland oldest city where you can meander around the historic Viking Triangle area of the city full of interesting nooks and crannies for you to explore. Here you also have the House of Waterford Crystal where you can see the masterful techniques that create such opulent visions of beauty.

Day 03 :
Kilkenny

We move on to Kilkenny today, a gem in the heart of Ireland’s Ancient East, where we will visit Kilmogue Dolmen, known locally as “Leac an Scail” stone of the warrior. It is one of the tallest and most spectacular examples of a portal dolmen in Ireland. We will then stop off at Jerpoint Abbey, one of the best examples of a medieval Cistercian Abbey, to explore the impressive grounds.

When we arrive in Kilkenny City, we will have time to explore the famous Kilkenny Castle and Parklands and St Canice’s Cathedral and Round Tower, two of Irelands oldest and historic landmarks.

Day 04 :
Wicklow

We move back towards Wicklow today stopping first at Baltinglass Abbey, the decorative stonework of the Abbey shows a remarkably interesting combination of Cistercian and Romanesque architecture. We will also stop at Athgreaney Stone Circle, locally known as the Piper’s Stones, legend has it that those caught dancing here on a Sunday would turn to stone, with the stones representing such revellers.

We then move through Hollywood, where local emigrant Micheal Guirke hailed from before making his way to California and giving the famous Hollywood in the US its name! As we move through the Wicklow Mountains you will take in the most breathtaking views and recognize plenty of sights from the big screen as Wicklow has the distinction of being the most popular location for feature film making in Ireland.

We will spend our afternoon exploring Glendalough, “valley of the two lakes,” which combines unbelievable natural beauty with utter serenity. The remains of St. Kevins Monastic City, which are dotted across the glen, include a superb round tower, numerous medieval stone churches and some decorative crosses.
